The powerful and inspirational program, Rachel's Challenge, is in full
swing at George Ranch. When you walk in the main hallway you
see paper chain links. These are acts of kindness that has occurred at
George Ranch! Rachel's Challenge brought students briefly back to
the events at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, when Rachel
was the first person murdered at Columbine. While the tragedy adds
context to the story, the presentation focused on Rachel.
The program focused on how Rachel lived her life, the legacy that she left
and the profound difference she made by exhibiting kindness and
compassion to those around her. Students are challenged on a variety of
areas from eliminating prejudice, guarding their influences and setting big
goals for their life.
